Carolyn Taylor was Born & raised in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated #14 in her class from Dusable High School in 1980. She then became a Certified Nurses Assistant to learn how to care for her aging mother. After her divorce in 1989, she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Carolyn is a single mother of 4 biological kids Mikiya, Mike, Marcus, and Montel, and 2 bonus children James and James, Jr. She worked as a crossing guard for many years on 24th Place and Locust. She then worked as a Program monitor for SDC for 8 years. Determined to keep her kids safe and occupied enough to stay book-smart and not street-busy, she produced a program called S.H.A.C.C (Striving for Higher Achievements in the Classroom and on the Courts) With her good friend Patrice Smith.
Carolyn’s vision was to elevate the program and fundraising efforts, so she attended and received her certificate in Non-profit management at UW Milwaukee in 1997. Carolyn currently resides in Texas and she has a passion for all kids she comes in contact with. Carolyn loves to challenge the minds of youth to help them become productive members of society.
